Motown Legacy

Biog

Leighton began his singing career in the early 1970's starting his musical life in vocal harmony bands touring the country performing at all types of venues.

Signed to an independent record label in the early 80's Leighton had minor successes on the conitinent but still continued to work at his craft within the UK keeping his feet firmly grounded.

In 1992 a break came for Leighton when he was asked to stand in for a member of the American Drifters, this not only was a fantastic experience but also opened his eyes to the love that people around the UK still held for the great sounds of groups such as The Drifters and he began to formulate his own ideas for a tribute to the sound of Black America, incorporating Motown and Soul and a little bit of everything in between.

His tribute ' Motown Legacy' is a nod to those great performers such as Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Sam and Dave, Jackie Wilson and so many more who gave us the truly great classics of pop and soul music.
